Why SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) is curating a list of Apps and Tools
In today’s evolving job market, possessing the right skills alone would not be enough to ensure career success. Effective job performance also depends on leveraging the right Apps and Tools, which are digital and technology solutions
programs, in software or app formats, that help people complete tasks more efficiently and effectively.
This is why SSG is curating a comprehensive list of Apps and Tools to support career readiness and job functions, mainly
derived from online job posting information. This list comprises largely digital technology tools that are used by experts as well as general users to carry out job functions across the economy, and will provide valuable insights into
job roles and skills to help individuals navigate their careers more effectively.
How we curate the list of Apps and Tools
The list is created by referencing online job posting data and leveraging insights from Lightcast. At SSG, we use a rigorous two-phase approach to create and refine the list of Apps and Tools:
Phase 1: Leveraging Large Language Models
Phase 2: Expert Review by SSG Jobs-Skills Analysts
Our process has transformed an extensive initial list into a refined compilation of approximately 5,300 Apps and Tools, detailed in the embedded table below.
Your feedback is important to us
SSG aims to strike a balance between ensuring that the list is comprehensive, while removing duplicates e.g. different versions of the same tool. To enhance its robustness, we would like to tap on the collective expertise of all stakeholders, including individuals, training providers, Institutes of Higher Learning, and employers.
By incorporating diverse perspectives, we aim to ensure the list reflects the needs of Singapore’s dynamic job market. Your feedback is crucial in refining this list and supporting informed decisions in career and skills development.
Please share your thoughts and suggestions through the feedback form here. All feedback will be considered and the final list put together by SSG, will be updated in the next edition of the Skills Demand for the Future Economy (SDFE) Report.
