HIGHEST SKILLS AWARD FOR EMPLOYERS

Presented by the President of the Republic of Singapore, the SkillsFuture Employer Awards honour exemplary organisations that champion employees’ skills development and build a lifelong learning culture at the workplace.

The Award distinguishes your organisation as an outstanding employer that emphasises employees’ skills development. It is a prestigious symbol of excellence and helps your company gain a competitive edge in talent attraction and retention. Your organisation can receive a Silver, Gold or Platinum Award. The Platinum Award is highest tier and conferred upon exceptional companies.

The SkillsFuture Employer Awards is open to all Singapore registered entities, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs), corporations and voluntary welfare organisations. Past recipients of the award are encouraged to reapply as an affirmation of your continuous commitment towards creating a culture of learning at your workplace.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Participate in efforts to build a lifelong learning culture in the workplace

Company should display commitment to creating a company culture that supports lifelong learning and continuous pursuit of skills mastery.


For example, to receive the Silver Award, the company has programmes at the workplace to facilitate continuous training, and/or sharing of skills and knowledge, or the company has achieved the National Workplace Learning Certification conferred by the National Centre of Excellence for Workplace Learning (NACE). Companies that have very strong workplace learning practices may receive the higher tier Gold award.

Recognise skills and mastery when hiring and in the career development of their employees

Company should demonstrate dedication and support towards continuous development of employee skills and capabilities to meet business and employee development needs.


For example, to receive the Silver award, the company should have a structured skills-based system in place to assess/promote employees and hire candidates. Companies that have adopted the Skills Framework or equivalent skills-based framework may receive the higher tier Gold award.

Align employee development efforts with other national manpower objectives

Company has strengthened its competitiveness and sustainability by adopting initiatives to enhance productivity, building a strong Singaporean Core, and/or creating a good work environment.


For example, to receive the Silver award, the company tapped on the Lean Enterprise Development (LED) scheme transform and grow or fosters an inclusive and diverse workplace for different employee segments such as mature workers and/or persons with disabilities. Companies that have contributed to development of the industry may receive the higher tier Gold award.
