Fortune School of Technology and Management

1. The Committee for Private Education (SSG/CPE) had terminated the registration status of Fortune School of Technology and Management with effect from 6 October 2012.  Through its investigations, the SSG/CPE found that the managers of Fortune School of Technology and Management had contravened the Private Education Act (Cap. 247A) by:

Failing to inform SSG/CPE in writing of the cessation of provision of private education by Fortune School of Technology and Management at least 30 days before the cessation (Section 41(1)(b)(ii) read with Section 41(3));

Failing to inform SSG/CPE in writing of the change of management of Fortune School of Technology and Management within 14 days after the date of change (Section 41(1)(d)(i) read with Section 41(3)); and

Failing to notify SSG/CPE of the change of managers’ contact information within 14 days after the date of change (Section 41(2)(c) read with Section 41(3)).

2. The four managers are foreign nationals and had left Singapore after closing the school. Their names are:

3. No students were affected by the closure, as none were enrolled at the time of closure.

4. Members of the public who wish to enrol for a Private Education course (degree, diploma or full-time* course) conducted by a private education institution (PEI) are advised to always check the PEI’s registration status. An updated list of registered PEIs and their lists of permitted course(s) can be found on the SSG/CPE’s website.

* A full-time course is one that is run for at least one month for 5 days a week and at least 3 hours each day.
