Two new SkillsFuture initiatives, MySkillsFuture portal and SkillsFuture Advice for Individuals, were launched by Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam today to provide Singaporeans with both online and offline access to information about skills and training, as well as job opportunities, so that they can actively acquire and deepen their skills, and plan their careers.

A new SkillsFuture Series of training programmes in eight priority and emerging skills areas has been launched by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) to help equip working adults with the skills required across different sectors. This was announced by Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and Second Minister for Defence, at the launch of the Lifelong Learning Festival 2017.

A bigger and more exciting Lifelong Learning Festival 2017 (LLF 2017) awaits Singaporeans of all ages this year. Aimed at building a culture of lifelong learning in support of the SkillsFuture movement, members of the public can participate in more than 300 learning activities island-wide, conducted over a month from 28 Oct to 28 Nov. With 145 community partners participating in this year’s Festival, LLF 2017 aims to reach out to 30,000 visitors.

SkillsFuture Singapore has accorded the highest award to five Adult Education (AE) professionals who set the benchmark for quality and excellence, and who serve as role models. These individuals are conferred as Adult Education Fellows (AEFs) at the Institute for Adult Learning (IAL)’s fifth graduation ceremony today, officiated by Senior Minister of State for Education and Communications and Information, Dr Janil Puthucheary.

The SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace was launched today by the Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills), Mr Ong Ye Kung. This new national initiative will equip Singaporeans with basic digital skills required at the workplace and in their daily lives, and cultivate a positive mind-set towards change.
