Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Education & Ministry of Trade and Industry, Mr Chee Hong Tat, launched the inaugural SkillsFuture Festival (SFF) 2018 at the Lifelong Learning Institute today. The launch event featured a showcase of sampler courses and activities by employers, training providers and community partners. Organised by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), the month-long Festival is aimed at building a culture of lifelong learning in support of the SkillsFuture movement, and Singaporeans of all ages can participate in learning activities island-wide from 30 June to 4 August 2018.

The Committee for Private Education released the results of its Private Education Institution (PEI) Graduate Employment Survey (GES) today. The annual survey aims to help students make informed decisions on their education choices. 42 PEIs were surveyed in this exercise, of which 30 had graduates from full-time bachelor’s level External Degree Programmes (EDPs). Similar surveys have been conducted for the Autonomous Universities (AUs), polytechnics, and the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).

Mrs Josephine Teo, Minister, Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Second Minister for Manpower, launched the Security Industry Transformation Map (ITM) today at the Lifelong Learning Institute. The event was attended by over 250 guests, including tripartite stakeholders and Government agencies.
