SAP SE (NYSE: SAP), SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and Temasek Polytechnic (TP) today launched three new courses under the SGUnited Mid-Career Pathways Programme. This is part of the SGUnited Jobs and Skills Package to upskill and reskill mid-career jobseekers for jobs in growth industries like the financial and technology sectors. This collaboration aims to boost the employability of 510 mid-career professionals by equipping them with skillsets and industry case study experiences to prepare them to re-enter the workforce.

Kwong Wai Shui Hospital, Singapore Institute Of Technology And SkillsFuture Singapore Form Strategic Alliance In Establishing Ecosystem To Support Workplace Learning And Training In The Community Care Sector

At a visit to the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) today, Minister for Education Mr Lawrence Wong announced the appointment of Kwong Wai Shiu Hospital (KWSH) as the first SkillsFuture Queen Bee partnership for the Community Care sector. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was inked between KWSH, SIT and SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) to support KWSH in skills and talent development, and through this, enhance the standard of care in the sector.

1000 Traineeships, Company Attachments And Training Opportunities For More Singaporeans To Join Maritime Sector

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is partnering SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), Workforce Singapore (WSG), the Singapore Shipping Association (SSA), maritime companies and institutes of higher learning (IHLs), to provide 1000 traineeships, company attachments and training opportunities for Singapore citizens and permanent residents under the SGUnited Jobs and Skills Initiative that will support the transformation of the maritime sector. These opportunities are in the industry’s new growth areas such as automation, digitalisation and supply chain integration. This was announced by Mr Chee Hong Tat, Senior Minister of State for Transport and Foreign Affairs, at the Singapore Maritime Institute’s SMI Forum 2020 themed “Future of Port and Shipping” today.

SkillsFuture Singapore Collaborates With Industry Partners And Institutes of Higher Learning To Build A Skilled And Resilient Workforce For The Future Of Advanced Manufacturing

To help manufacturers adapt to the crisis and build the necessary capabilities to thrive in post-COVID world, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) is rolling out about 2,300 training opportunities in advanced manufacturing. This is part of the national SGUnited Jobs and Skills initiative to upskill and reskill mid-career jobseekers for growth sectors such as advanced manufacturing. In particular, SSG is partnering leading companies in Industry 4.0 technology such as Bosch, NVIDIA Corporation (NVIDIA), Omron Corporation (OMRON), PBA Robotics, and Siemens to provide 500 company training opportunities under the SGUnited Mid-Career Pathways Programme1. These companies will take the lead to groom mid-career talent and facilitate placements in hiring companies, where they can take on emerging roles such as Industrial Design Engineers, Automation Engineers, Machine Learning Specialists and Product Designers.
