Marine & Offshore Sector Gets Enhanced Training Support To Upskill Workers

To help mitigate the impact of Covid-19 on businesses and position them for recovery, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) will extend enhanced course fee support under the Enhanced Training Support Package (ETSP) to the marine & offshore sector. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Mr Heng Swee Keat in his Ministerial Statement today.

Over 13,000 Training Places For Aerospace Employees Under Enhanced Training Support Package

To mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on the aerospace industry, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) and the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) have jointly announced the extension of the Enhanced Training Support Package (ETSP) to the aerospace sector. This will help the sector tide over the economic impact of COVID-19, encourage companies to upskill their employees and position themselves for subsequent recovery. Under this package, employees will benefit from more than 13,000 highly-subsidised training places.

Over 10,000 Training Positions For Mid-Career Individuals Rolled Out Under SGUnited Skills Programme

SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) has rolled out over 10,000 training opportunities, with close to 700 trainees enrolled in 40 courses under the SGUnited Skills Programme, since its launch at the inaugural SGUnited Jobs and Skills Fair on 3 July 2020. There are another almost 10,000 places that will become available. Close to 900 opportunities in the Built Environment sectors will be progressively made available from this month, with support from various training providers such as the BCA Academy (BCAA), Institute of Technical Education (ITE), National University of Singapore (NUS), Republic Polytechnic (RP), Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Singapore Management University (SMU), Singapore Polytechnic (SP), and Temasek Polytechnic (TP).
