SkillsFuture Month 2021: Upskilling To Open Up New Opportunities

SkillsFuture Singapore has kickstarted the SkillsFuture Month, held between 8 July to 22 August. Themed “Open new possibilities when you upskill”, the SkillsFuture Month 2021 will feature a range of over 54 virtual, hybrid and physical events, catering to Singaporeans at different stages of their life, as well as enterprises and training partners.

Sheng Siong Partners SkillsFuture Singapore To Enable Its SME Suppliers Build Capabilities To Accelerate Digitalisation

Sheng Siong, one of Singapore’s largest supermarket chains, has partnered SkillsFuture Singapore under the SkillsFuture Queen Bee programme to support its Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) suppliers build up capabilities to accelerate digitalisation. Through this partnership, participating SMEs will be able to identify their skills gaps and benefit from a customised training plan to address these skills gaps.

National Workplace Learning Certification - A New Recognition For Companies With Good Workplace Learning Processes And Capabilities

The National Workplace Learning Certification, developed by the National Centre of Excellence for Workplace Learning (NACE), was launched by Mr Lawrence Wong, Minister for Education at the Mandai MRT Depot today. The new certification aims to help Singapore-based companies put in place progressive workplace learning practices and capabilities, and through this, enhance their workforce performance and improve retention rates. NACE is led by Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP) and supported by SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Adjustments To Skills Training Schemes To Sharpen Focus On Manpower Development Outcomes

As announced during the Ministry of Education’s Committee of Supply debate in March 2021, SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) will be implementing three key measures to prioritise SSG’s resourcing on training schemes which will better meet the training needs of Singaporeans and in turn deliver stronger manpower development outcomes. These measures will be progressively implemented from January to December 2022.
